We're PRI, a full-service digital consultancy that helps brands and businesses grow, share, and succeed. We create websites, campaigns, stories, and more that help our clients reach their goals, kickstart conversations, and connect with their customers.
But we don’t just care about making cool stuff — which we do. We also care about positively impacting the world, from our local communities to ecosystems on the other side of the planet. We believe that as a business, we're responsible for giving back to the community and the planet we live in and depend on.
That’s why we joined a group of extraordinary people who give 1% of their sales to help the environment. It’s called 1% for the Planet, and we want to tell you all about it.
What is 1% for the Planet?
1% for the Planet is a like-minded group of businesses and individuals who care — they care about the planet; they care about underserved communities; they care about making a positive difference.
Back in 2002, Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, came to a stark realization. They realized that businesses are responsible for protecting the natural resources they depend on and benefit from. They also recognized that to tackle today’s environmental challenges, nonprofits need more funding and support. But as it stood, there was no formal way to push for this and support these initiatives. And that needed to change.
So they created 1% For The Planet, a network of businesses and individuals who pledge to donate at least 1% of their annual sales to approved environmental nonprofits. These nonprofits work on various issues such as climate change, biodiversity, water quality, land conservation, animal welfare, and more.
It has been decades since its launch, and now 1% for the Planet has over 5,000 businesses and over 6,000 nonprofits in more than 100 countries. They’ve given over $500 million to environmental causes. And they’re not stopping any time soon.
1% for the Planet is not just about giving money. It’s also about giving time, skills, voice, and influence. It’s about joining a community of like-minded people with a passion for the planet. It’s about taking action and making an impact.
That’s what our clients do, and it’s what we’re proud to do, too.
Why Do We Give Back? It Creates a Better World
Giving back is essential — we all know that. But it’s more than that — giving back to the planet is our responsibility and it’s an opportunity to make a tangible difference. We recognize that our business depends on the health and well-being of the planet and its people, and we want to do our part to protect and restore it.
By joining 1% for the Planet, we commit to donating 1% of our sales to environmental nonprofits that align with our values and goals. This way, we can support the most important causes, such as animal welfare, education, ending poverty, humanitarian aid, LGBTQ+, and racial equality, just to name a few.
We give 1% of our sales because we think it’s the right thing to do. We also think it’s good for our business. Here are some of the reasons why we give 1% of our sales:
- It makes us happy. We love knowing we're doing something good for the world and ourselves.
- It makes our customers happy. They like knowing that they are supporting a business that cares about more than just money.
- It makes our employees happy. Our team likes being part of a team with a purpose and a vision.
- It makes us stand out. We show that we're different and have values and goals beyond our products and services.
- It makes us better. We learn from the nonprofits and other businesses that we work with.
Some businesses give money, which is the most traditional route to giving back. Some organizations give products or services, while some give time or skills. There are also those businesses that give all of the above — what matters is the drive and the passion to do whatever can be done to make an impact.
Corporate giving like this is a way for businesses to show that they care about more than just profits and want to make a positive difference in the world.
Corporate giving and philanthropy are good for the planet and global community because they can help address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, health, and education.
Philanthropic strategies can also improve the social and economic well-being of the people and places businesses operate. Not only that, but corporate philanthropy and charitable donations can help reduce the environmental footprint of businesses and promote sustainability.
Corporate philanthropy is a moral obligation and a strategic opportunity for businesses. By giving back to the community and the planet, businesses can gain many benefits that can enhance their performance, reputation, and impact while making the world a better, happier, and healthier place.
How Do We Give 1% Of Our Sales?
We’re passionate about our causes and smart about how we can use funds to help promote these efforts — here are a few of the causes that speak to us most.
- Animal Welfare
- Ending Poverty
- Humanitarian Aid
- Racial Equality
We also have a Charitable Matching Program for our employees. This means that when they donate their money to a charity that matches one of our categories, we match their donation. This way, we can double our impact and let our employees choose their own causes.
How Our Amazing Clients Give Back
We're proud to work with clients who share our passion for giving back to the environment and the community, and their innovation and dedication inspire us to keep learning, growing, and evolving. Here’s a peek at some of the organizations making a difference.
One of the charities we support through our work is Share & Care Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives of marginalized communities in rural India. Share & Care Foundation empowers women, educates children, provides healthcare, promotes social justice, and fosters sustainable development.
We work with Share & Care Foundation because we share their vision of creating a more equitable and compassionate world. We also appreciate their holistic approach to addressing the root causes of poverty and injustice. By supporting Share & Care Foundation, we hope to make a lasting difference in the lives of thousands of people in India.

Through donations, merchandise sales, events, and campaigns, MUTTS also supports various animal shelters, rescue groups, and wildlife organizations.
March of Dimes is a nonprofit organization that leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. They support research, programs, education, and advocacy to prevent birth defects, premature birth, maternal mortality, and infant mortality. They also address health equity gaps for families of different races, ethnicities, incomes, and geographies.
We’re also honored to partner with the National Fragile X Foundation to help them achieve their vision of a world where every family is empowered to navigate the Fragile X journey successfully. We help them tell their stories, raise awareness, engage their audience, and increase their impact. We are inspired by their passion, dedication, and resilience. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of their solution.
We're also a proud partner and supporter of MGFA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with myasthenia gravis which is a rare autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness and fatigue. We help the team reach their audiences, fostering deep connections in an increasingly digital-first world.
These are just a few of the brands leading the way toward actionable change, and they inspire us each and every day.
